Hi, I’m Chloe, the founder of CHIA. We are about adventure and the outdoors, good food, and living a balanced sustainable lifestyle.
In creating CHIA, we wanted to share something of nutritional value for sustained energy and well being. CHIA started as an endurance drink for athletes, but we soon realised that everyone can do with a nutritional boost.
What packs the punch in CHIA?
CHIA provides children and adults with a vegetarian form of omega 3 along with essential nutrients such as magnesium, calcium, iron, potassium and naturally occurring electrolytes. CHIA is rich in both soluble and insoluble fibre, fibre is usually extracted from other juices but is important for blood sugar regulation and digestion which makes CHIA more like a food than a drink.
Chia seeds hold more than 10 times their weight in water; hydrating the seed helps increase your body’s ability to absorb the nutrients. It is also what creates the fun gel around the chia seed in our CHIA drinks.
All of this natural goodness is blended with our favorite fruit juices to create delicious, healthy, flavoursome drinks – right here in sunny Nelson.
Blackcurrants in particular are rich in anti-oxidants and assisting in sports recovery. CHIA and blackcurrants are the perfect athlete combination.
Blueberries are a subtle but unique taste with recent research supporting their ability to assist sport training and recovery. To this blend, we have added New Zealand apples. This is my favourite blend, I could drink this during a run or at a café.
Orange and Passionfruit make tropical CHIA and is always a favourite. Tropical CHIA embodies the taste of orchard grown oranges and real passionfruit mixed with New Zealand apples.
We hope you enjoy CHIA just as much as we do
